2010 - The 'Human League Desktop Calendar' thread

Postby Sarah Tarrant on Wed Oct 28, 2009 9:43 am

With the onset of a new year rapidly approaching my thoughts have turned to how to update my 2009 calendars.

Since I did the original collection I've learnt a lot from my 'Wish Me Luck' television series image capture project, something that is still available to view at http://www.tvgold.co.uk/wish-luck-episodic-image-capture-memories-t638.html and is something that I am very proud of.

Anyway I've had a look at what I'd like to have as computer wallpaper for my laptop for 2010 and here are some newly revised creations...

...and as a sign of intent that this is not merely a dates update exercise here is a revision of the 'Fascination' themed calendar, the original of which I was rather disappointed with.

In the coming weeks I hope to come back for more when time and internet access permits for some more new/revised creations.

with best wishes!
:)

There are two more revisions and possibly a few more new designs hopefully coming soon...

Back for three more...

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z152/saraht1102/P-2010-1680x1050.jpg

and the third one, a different take on a previous one that I think worked pretty well...

I hope to have three more to finish off with, two of which will be new designs, one of them I got the idea from watching a pop video on MTV Dance earlier this week.

Catch you guys later!

So my internet exile is coming to an end, should have more time online from next week with Southampton central library back after a three week refit.

Back with three more, my last trio of designs... I think twenty is probably quite enough, certainly for 2010!

First one was the one inspired by an MTVDance video, can't remember which...

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z152/saraht1102/R-2010-1680x1050.jpg

Next using 'Louise' as a subject, this is one I'm particularly proud of and can't believe how well (IMO) it turned out...

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z152/saraht1102/S-2010-1680x1050.jpg

...and lastly, just a bit of fun...

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z152/saraht1102/T-2010-1280x1024.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z152/saraht1102/T-2010-1680x1050.jpg

I'm not an expert in promotional design and only have the most basic of facilities at my command (Microsoft Word, Paint, word art etc), plus a reasonably good digital camera. I hope that these suitably honour the creative genius on offer from The Human League in their iconicly memorable and distinctive videos which are great in further reinforcing the excellent music for which they are best known!
