candidates for 'classic series' "worst story" sin

Classic Doctor Who is the longest-running science fiction television series in the history of broadcasting, a series that began on the BBC1 network in the United Kingdom in November 1963 and ran until 1989. Whilst UK viewers warmed to the subsequent 1996 TV movie ratings were not similiarly strong in America and this co-production sadly spelled eighth incarnation Paul McGann's only appearance to date.

Seeing that elsewhere here at TVGold people have started talking about worst ofs how about most disappointing or difficult viewing experiences within the 'classic series' run.

My candidates would be:-

"Terminus" starring Peter Davison
"Logopolis" starring Tom Baker
"The Daleks" starring William Hartnell

Much of Tom Baker's era would get my vote but if I had to pick the worst story in the show's (the real show not the remake) history it would be 'The Android Invasion', dreadful stuff. Also the Pertwee era story 'Death To The Daleks' is disgracefully bad.

On reflection I'd probably add to this list Peter Davison's "Frontios" Story which does feel overtly laboured and is not helped by IMO fairly leaden incidental music.

Are you serious? Tom Baker was surely the best Doctor by a country mile and his first 3 seasons are generally considered to be the best of Doctor Who ever. Each to their own of course and I rather like The Android Invasion and REALLY like Death to the Daleks, despite its poor reputation.
