Introducing myself

The BBC's brilliant SECRET ARMY dramatised the lives of the brave men and women who ran the resistance evasion lines, which assisted Allied aircrews to escape from German occupied countries into neutral countries like Spain or Switzerland, during the Second World War

Hello there,

I have just joined this forum after just re-seeing the entire series on dvd over the last couple of days (and nights).
I have been obsessed with ww2 and have made it into my job to talk about the subject.
I am a historical consultant for film and tv.
I live in Amsterdam, right here in the Netherlands and had not seen the original series.
English friends kept telling me about it and when it was finally repeated on Belgium TV I knew I had to watch it.
I was very sceptical, its my job to point out historical mistakes and was aware that especially the 1970s were infamous for making very very unauthentic films and television.
But Secret Army made me jump with joy, what a fantastic series.
After seeing the entire series I knew I had to get the dvd and I now cant stop watching it.

Yes there are still a few mistakes here and there but very very few and the stories and the acting makes you completely ignore them.

As part of my job I interview people who lived trough the war but also re-enact their stories for film and tv but also in museums.
So I look a bit like the women of Lifeline, ive even been true a checkpoint with a british airman... for the Discovery Channel but still rather scary...
See a bit of that here;
