Missing Episode

The BBC's brilliant SECRET ARMY dramatised the lives of the brave men and women who ran the resistance evasion lines, which assisted Allied aircrews to escape from German occupied countries into neutral countries like Spain or Switzerland, during the Second World War

Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum. I have just finished watching all three series' on UKTVDrama and enjoyed every minute of it. I thought the execution was a bit far fetched, but have since read that it was based on a true story of a POW camp in Holland, so what do I know.
Does anybody know if it's possible to see the last episode of the 3rd series that was pulled by the BBC at the last minute. I think it was called 'What did your daddy do in the war?' or something like that. I would love to see it. It doesn't seem to be discussed on here. I hope somebody knows something about it .

Hi.

Andy will be better equipped to answer you on this one, but the long and short of it is, I don't think we're ever going to see it-more's the pity.

Thanks for the replies,
I'm surprised somebody within the BBC has not smuggled it out and allowed us all to see it. I suppose the BBC staff are all so politically correct that that wouldn't happen, especially as the episode was meant to be anti - communist.

regarding the so-called 'missing episode' I refer you to pages 38 & 39 of Andy Priestner's 'Season Three - Viewing Notes' booklet.

The episode is indeed called 'What Did You Do In The War, Daddy?' and this double page spread of the booklet features a thorough plot synopsis amongst eighteen screen grab images.

The 'What Did You Do In The War, Daddy?' episode is also mentioned on pages 14 and 15 of the booklet where it is indicated that contractual negotiation problems continue to halt any return from the archives in either transmission or retail release form.

Personally I do not think it is any great loss and that 'Kessler' provides a far better sequel to 'Secret Army' than this 'so-called' missing episode.

I hope this has helped to clarify the situation
