'Heroes' US ratings smash comes to terrestrial BBC2!

Undoubtedly 'Heroes' has won many greatly appreciative fans on both sides of the Atlantic (of which I know Chris is definitely one!) but now after its tenure on the advert laden satellite 'Sci-Fi' channel this series is all set for a terrerstrial broadcast of the first series kicking off with a special double episode and ten minute 'behind the scenes' extra from 9.00pm on Wednesday 25th July 2007.

Although rather intrigued by this series I've not actually, so far, 'dipped my toe' into the waters of this latest US import, I personally don't like watching something that is distrupted by advert breaks and waiting for its BBC2 arrival.

I'll certainly be giving these opening two episodes some viewing time and just might get hooked like, apparently, so many people have.

...anyway there's a nice mini-site on the BBC website as a fairly good taster... http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/heroes/index.shtml

Taped Wednesday's double episode and watched it this morning whilst munching through my breakfast and... yes I definitely like what I'm seeing. Loved the guy whom can teleport from Japan to new York, the lady who 'cannot die', bit like 'Death Becomes Her' when she gets knocked to the ground by the quarterback.

Funny enough it was a good topic of conversation with a couple of checkout ladies and another customer in Asda this morning.

Looking forward to more BBC2 screenings in coming weeks and happy to hear that season two starts in the USA in September whilst we here in the UK see 12 episodes out on DVD in October. Wonder if there will be any extras with them or will the BBC forgo this??? Time will tell!

Anyone looking forward to the second season of "Heroes" starting on BBC2 on Thursday 24th April (plus BBC3 new episode on the same evening)??? For myself yeah I guess I'll wade through another eleven week run only because after this it will be totally finished with no likelyhood of a third run to follow.
