I would like to agree with all the comments posted here that seeing Season Three of Survivors released before the end of the year is excellent news.

Not sure how the episode split will go over four discs seeing that that there are only twelve episodes in this run.

What could possibly be chosen for commentary honours this time round I wonder?

Maybe 'Mad Dog' or, a better choice, 'Law of The Jungle'. Who knows maybe, gasp with guest star Brian Blessed???

Although I think it is more likely certain that Ian McCulloch will be back for commentary duties to his classic season three story 'The Last Laugh', and quite rightly, at least in my opinion.

Whatever I'm sure it will be well worth the wait!

It's certainly going to be well worth the wait. Delighted to hear about the documentary mentioned here, and the episodes selected for commentary are most welcome ('Mad Dog' and 'Law of The Jungle' are, in my opinion two of the best of this particular run of episodes)

You know when I weigh up the choices for November I think I will probably chose 'Survivors 3' over the most likely over priced 'Doctor Who (new Series)' box set. I don't know but am I the only one whose feels a bit of 'new series - overkill' at present. <!--emo&:huh:-->[img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif[/img]<!--endemo-->

Does anyone know if they will be releasing a complete box set of all three series of 'Survivors', like they did with 'Secret Army'?

I wouldn't be surprised however judging that Season Three of Survivors is slated for a November release I rather doubt that it will be forthcoming until the spring of next year.

DD Home Entertainment wouldn't want to detract from the commerical sellability of Season Three. I think the same release policy also existed with the release of Season Three of Secret Army and the subsequent 'all three season's box set.

Thank you very much for your kind comments regarding my 'I Claudius' & 'Fall of Eagles' evaluations. I certainly wasn't expecting such appreciation for what I've written, although it is indeed most welcome. I did 'Fall of Eagles' as I had never seen it before and was so impressed with it I felt I needed to say what was so great about it to other people. Although familiar with 'I Claudius' I thought it worth doing a similiar thing for this classic Roman epic.

Regretably I'm not overly keen on either aquiring 'War & Peace' or doing a similiar exercise, sorry about that <!--emo&:(-->[img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif[/img]<!--endemo--> , however I would definitely welcome anyone else to champion this series in the same way in which I have done with 'Claudius' & 'Eagles'.

Thanks for the reply. It is rather a shame that you do not wish to see War & Peace - I would definitely recommend it - but I understand. Hopefully, someone else will evaluate it or maybe I shall have a go myself...

Just heard that my copy of Season Three was posted by play.com yesterday (Friday 11th) so should get it some time next week
