If you like 'Secret Army' why not try 'Wish Me Luck'?

The BBC's brilliant SECRET ARMY dramatised the lives of the brave men and women who ran the resistance evasion lines, which assisted Allied aircrews to escape from German occupied countries into neutral countries like Spain or Switzerland, during the Second World War

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your review of the Wish Me Luck series.

I remember the first series when it was on TV years ago and bought all three series last year on DVD. Having seen all of them now I think series 3 was the better of the three, and the stunningly beautiful scenary in that part of France was a joy to watch.

I would have liked to see more of Kate Buffery's character in the third series and was pleased to see the gorgeous Michael J Jackson return for a third series. Of all the acting performances I thought Michael J Jackson's portrayal of Kit Vanston was by far the best, followed by Jane Asher.

Well thanks for the wonderful review it was such a pleasure to read, even after watching the DVDs!

I concur whole-heartedly with Claire - terrific reviews Sarah! I too got into Wish Me Luck because of Secret Army and now only have the last two eps of S3 to watch. Funny, I think I recall having read somewhere that S3 wasn't as good as the previous two series but, for me, it certainly hasn't been a let-down (albeit I do think S1 was still the best).

Although it's not quite in Secret Army's class (but then what is??) I do think it is an excellent similar series.

Hope someone can answer this one! :)

I'd like to buy this, but the DVDs on Amazon are listed as "repackaged". Does anyone know if that means this is different to the original series - if so, in what way? Is it worth buying, or worth waiting out for an original to appear?

Thanks in advance.
